Booksssss

Yesterday I was at Kinokuniya Orchard with KL.

I wanted to get my hands on a copy of Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross before I watch the movie when it’s released in December. And it seems that some countries have banned the book. So while I tracked down the book I drifted off to the Fantasy section and grabbed the paperback edition of A Lion Among Men by Gregory Maguire, the 3rd installation of the Wicked! series. I bought the first two when I was in the US (cheap paperbacks!) and I really liked it. I always wanted to buy another book by Maguire titled Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, which is the other side of the story in Cinderella. Sounds pretty interesting but in the end I didn’t buy it because, despite having 10% discount, buying 3 novels at one go felt a little decadent to me. Not that they cost a lot, but it didn’t feel right.

Then I saw The Lost Symbol. I want it. But it costs a freaking $48. Even with the 30% discount for members, it still is a whooping $33.60. I’m not sure if it’d be cheaper elsewhere, like Borders. So I didn’t buy it. It’s just too expensive. Plus I hate hardcovers. They are so hard to carry and read. But I want to read it. It’s the sequel to The Da Vinci Code. I want it I want it I want it.

:(

Oh well.

Sometimes she does not ‘need’ a mug. She just wants a mug.
