On Sunday, my little niece took part in the Cold Storage Kid’s Run held at the F1 pitstop. I tagged along to play shutterbug.
This shot was taken with the High Contrast digital filter on my camera; I suppose it’s good for post-processing but not on-the-spot shots because it requires rendering time. But overall I am loving the effect.
Because I love colourful things, I am always instantly attracted to balloons at any event (see: Pinkdot).
I think part of being a shutterbug is shamelessly taking pictures of other people having fun. This family looks like they are having much fun hauling the brother.
This is the little girl in question. She’s 4, and showing off her temporary tattoo with the Flyer as background.
This inappropriately-dressed parent is stroller-racing with a toddler who’s alseep. So many things wrong about this picture but he looks like he’s having fun.
“No one behind me – am I the first or am I the last?”
A particularly heartrending scene – you have to be there to feel what I felt. As these challenged participants made the turn towards the finishing line, bystanders clapped and cheered them on. It’s a certain kind of community and humanitarian spirit that is so precious.
It was fun to shutterbug. :)
