Dystopian Challenge

Lisa at Books.Lists.Life. has started a Dystopian Reading Challenge, whereby one can choose to read any number of dystopian or utopian books by Nov 6th! So this is my list (so far):

1. 1984, George Orwell (aw, this is already in my 2007 TBR list)
2. Animal Farm, George Orwell (The last time I read this was …. X years back)
3. The Giver, Lois Lowry (seems like a lot of the participants are reading this too)

I already read The Handmaid’s Tale and Brave New World, so now I can’t think of any other books I can read. Will update this list when I’ve got something more.

what the hell is dystopian?! like the opposite of utopian is it? i like animal farm, something so highbrow and i can actually somewhat understand the message!

Yeah, opposite of utopia. My dictionary says “A work of fiction describing an imaginary place where life is extremely bad because of deprivation or oppression or terror”.
