I made a bag

I made a bag over the weekend (read: procrastination)

I followed the tutorial by Tiny Happy. Quite easy to make, except for the wonky sewing machine. (or maybe it’s my bad skills; haven’t handled a sewing machine since 2000 thereabout)
I bought the cloth at Joo Chiat Complex; the flowery one goes for $2.80 per yard (approx 0.9m) and the plain fuchsia cotton for $2 per yard. Cheap in my opinion (not to my mum though), especially when compared to the overpriced ones at Spotlight. The more I look at the flowery cloth, the more it reminds me of some summer kimono cloth. Heh.
Anyway, I want my own sewing machine. -pouts-

so sweet! wah, you really can do lots of stuff. bake cookies lah, cupcakes lah, cakes lah, brownies lah, make earrings lah… i feel so inadequate. :( haha. (why you don’t make stuff and sell them online? especially your book earrings.)

hmm, if you ever found a bookish cloth, you could make a really cute bookbag!

Because I have nothing better to do with my life so I wind up doing all these housewife-ish things at home. Hoho. If I find a bookish cloth and make a bookbag it’s going to you! :D

all the more you should make some money out of your hobby, since you have so much free time you’d be able to make lots of stuff!

hehe, i don’t think that bag will be made then – i mean, i’ve never seen a bookish cloth before! but it would be so awesome if there is such a cloth.

Well, that depends if people actually want to buy my stuff, heh. I’ll hunt for it. I’ve see cloth with Barney and cats and caterpillars. I’m sure there exists bookish cloth somewhere.

hihi! ^^ what’s the fabric selection in joo chiat complex like? i’m pretty curious and would love to go down, but it’d pretty far from where i live. XD imho, $2.80 a yard for a cute print like this is awesome 8DDD chinatown and arab street cannot compare with that lol (also, helo fellow poupee girl! XD)

Most of the cloth there are bedsheet-potential, if you get what I mean. Flower prints in big and small, dubious cartoon characters. Some are pajamas-potential too, stripes, and solids. Good if you want a big variety of cotton.
And then there’s the curtain sections with lace and whatnot.
Not much of the fanciful material like fur. Some satin and organza too.
