[...] I don’t know, I seem to have this thing for novels that invoke historical events, personalities or place. Like The Historian (for obvious reasons through its title), Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell (Oooh, meloves the setting; England in the early 19th century, post-Napoleonic), Empress Orchid (meloves stories of Cixi, and it’s got nothing to do with Forbidden City).. etc. (’Tis too taxing for me to crack my brain especially having had 8 hours of lesson today). So I reckon that’s why I was so attrached to this book after seeing it at the MPH warehouse sale last Sunday. And I reckon it’s why I’m wanting to get hold of The Geographer’s Library. I can’t wait for Wednesday when I can drag Angela to Co-op with me (so that I can get $1 off because she has membership :D) [...]
