Walled In

I am a demigod
who’s built a wall I myself can’t break.
So I’ll hand you this chisel
I’ll hand you this sledgehammer
wishing you’d have the patience and courage.
I have no fear of meeting you in the middle –
in fact my only fear is myself.
I fear the more you knock at the wall
the stronger and higher I’ll build it.
To the point it becomes a fortress that
hides me away from the rest of the world,
imprenetrable;
unbreakable;
unlovable.
